PALA Interstate, LLC
General Description:
Inspects equipment and working conditions at industrial settings to meet compliance with occupational safety regulations set by OSHA, ANSI, PALA Interstate and the client. Generally works alone, but coordinates with other company officials.
Essential Functions:
1. Conducts safety meetings and presentations for employees and clients.
2. Provides safety training for both new and experienced employees.
3. Monitors/inspects every construction job on a daily basis including monitoring of workers to determine appropriate use of safety equipment.
4. Visually inspects Above Ground Storage Tanks and completes appropriate paperwork.
5. Obtains and relates evacuation routes to all personnel.
6. Performs respirator training and, fire/hole watch training, permit testing and operator tests and issues cards as appropriate.
7. Maintains knowledge of all safety equipment and performs safety supply and first aid supply inventory and distributes supplies as needed.
8. Investigates all injury/accident claims and completes all reports required. Recommends preventative safety measures if applicable.
9. Collects safety data and reports information on monthly basis.
10. Performs monthly OSHA equipment inspections with assistance from a qualified operator.
11. Tests work areas for noise and/or other hazards via use of specialized monitoring equipment.
- Degree, CSST, or COSS in occupational/safety health
- 5 years in a safety management position.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification a plus.
