Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in construction of new tanks and repair of existing tanks. Supervises and directs a group of workers on a particular construction or maintenance job following specific permit orders.
Reads, studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blue prints. Uses basic math skills including geometry, trigonometry to make calculations for work. Can complete difficult job tasks according to job specifications with minimal or no supervision.
Essential Functions
- Obtains work permit from appropriate source, reads it and performs a “job walk” to make sure working environment is safe and conditions are as outlined by the permit.
- Confers with supervisor if permit information is questionable and appropriate measures are taken to handle the situation.
- Assesses need for equipment and is responsible for obtaining that equipment from the appropriate personnel.
- Reads and interprets company policy to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Assigns duties, lines up and follows all work being performed.
- Responsible for completion of and review of appropriate paperwork i.e., sign in/sign out sheets, valve lists, MSDS, time sheets, etc.
- Conducts “tool box” safety meetings for workers.
- Resolves any work-related problems.
- Trains and assists workers in performance of their duties.
- Drives company truck to transport workers to and from work site.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum Four years’ experience in Craft.
- NCCER Certification strongly desired.
- Must pass our in-house Craft Assessment Test
- Must have valid driver’s license.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School or GED preferred but not required.
- Trade School program preferred but not required.
