Provide thorough and consistent daily care and maintenance of both the resident bird and marine life population and their enclosures at Sea Life Park Hawaii. Educate guests regarding birds and marine life.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
- Daily examinations and feeding of sea birds housed in our collection.
- Daily intake, preliminary examination, oral hydration, weighing, feeding, wound care, banding, etc for sea birds presented for rehabilitation
- Facilitate veterinary examination and care of sea birds.
- Daily care and maintenance of the sea bird exhibit and rehabilitation areas including cleaning, pruning, raking, laundry etc.
- Oversight and coordination of animals and staff during seasonal periods when there can be a high influx of birds
- Daily record keeping, maintain the files for the department including all animal records
- Maintain database on seabirds and prepare annual reports to various government agencies. Supervise staff to ensure proper record keeping needed for annual reports.
- Prepare reports necessary required by seabird rehabilitation permits as required.
- Provide updates to US Fish and wildlife. Includes: animal transports, deaths, etc.
- Observe and report trends of unusual injuries or mortalities to veterinary staff and/or USFWS
- Give daily scheduled lectures to the public pertaining to Sea Birds in Hawaii
- Maintenance of department supplies and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of the Park's collection of Sea Birds
- Generate daily report to the veterinarian.
- Generate/Update protocols for the sea bird collection for review by the veterinary team.
Train staff and interns in basic bird handling and husbandry skills.
- Respond to informational calls from the public.
- Additional duties as needed by the General Manager or Veterinarian.
Working Conditions: Indoor/Outdoors in sea bird rehabilitation or sea bird sanctuary enclosures.
Work Hours: Flexible. (Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.)
