Palacios Marine & Industrial is seeking a highly motivated Construction Site Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will perform various physical tasks at our construction sites, including operating hand and power tools, cleaning and preparing sites, loading and unloading materials, and assisting other skilled labor as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist equipment operators with daily operations
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Load and unload materials with attention to detail
- Control traffic flow and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Participate in on-the-job training programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Perform routine site maintenance and clean-up
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate efficient operations
- Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to guide work activities
- Unload, load, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, and distribute them to appropriate locations
- Measure, mark, or record distances and openings to layout areas for construction work
- Dig, backfill, or compact earth to meet grade specifications
- Erect or dismantle temporary structures as needed
- Collaborate with craft workers to achieve project goals
- Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools to maintain optimal performance
