Riggers at Palacios Marine and Industrial play a critical role in the safe movement of heavy equipment and materials. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial rigging, ensuring that all lifting operations are conducted with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and maintain rigging equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
- Plan and execute lifts, taking into account load weights, equipment capacity, and other relevant factors.
- Attach loads using an array of rigging gear, including slings, chains, cables, hooks, and shackles.
- Signal operators during lifts to ensure accurate placement and positioning.
- Climb structures and guide loads during lift and positioning operations.
- Assist in connecting or stabilizing loads prior to detachment from equipment.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of industrial rigging experience is required.
- The successful candidate must have completed a nationally accredited rigging assessment, such as the NCCER Rigging assessment.
- They must be able to meet all physical demands of the role, including working at heights exceeding 300 feet.
- All necessary tools must be provided by the employee.
Physical Demands:
- The role requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
- The employee may be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Working at heights, climbing ladders and stairways, and occasional work on platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements are also part of the job.
- The employee must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, cold, and wind, while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
