Job Description :
The AV Support Specialist is the go-to person for all things AV (audio-visual).
They're responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the AV equipment used in various settings, like meetings, conferences, presentations, training sessions, and events.
Also responsible for meeting service level agreements (SLAs) in line with our ITSM.
Responsibilities :
Workload Management : Effectively documents, tracks, escalates, and notify issues within the support team. Provides day-to-day support and troubleshooting of user AV related issues.
Equipment Preparation : Setting up and configuring AV equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, cameras, video conferencing systems, lighting, and control systems.
Event Support : Providing on-site / remote technical support during events. This might involve monitoring sound levels, adjusting lighting, managing presentations, and troubleshooting any technical glitches that arise.
Pre-Event Checks : Performing thorough checks of all AV equipment before events to ensure everything is functioning correctly and prevent disruptions.
Planning and Prioritization : Proactively plan for upcoming events and prioritize tasks to guarantee successful execution.
User Assistance : Providing technical assistance to end-users on how to use AV equipment effectively. This could involve training users on basic operation or troubleshooting common issues.
Problem Solving : Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with AV equipment, often under pressure during live events.
Remote Support : Providing remote technical support to users experiencing AV issues.
Preventative Maintenance, Repairs, and Installations : Performing routine maintenance on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and prolong its lifespan. Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning AV equipment or coordinating repairs with external vendors when necessary. Installing and configuring new AV equipment and systems, including running cables, connecting devices, and programming control systems.
Inventory Management : Maintains appropriate stock levels of essential AV equipment and supplies, including cables, batteries, adapters, and other commonly used items.
Skills & Qualifications :
High School or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
