Role Description
We seek a highly skilled Electronics Engineer with experience in high-speed signal bring-up to join our innovative team in a full-time hybrid role based in Houston, TX. You will be instrumental in designing and optimizing the high-performance electrical systems that power our emergency response drones. This includes ensuring signal integrity, rapid bring-up of high-speed interfaces, and advancing the overall electronics architecture of our systems.

You’ll collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver innovative, reliable solutions for drones operating in high-pressure emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and validate high-speed signal interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet).
- Perform signal integrity analysis, including simulation and measurement of transmission lines.
- Debug and resolve issues with high-speed signaling during PCB bring-up, ensuring robust operation across temperature and usage conditions.
- Design and optimize PCBs for high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.
- Perform schematic capture and layout design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
- Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to optimize PCB form factor and thermal management.
- Conduct hands-on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Develop and execute validation plans for high-speed interfaces and related components.
- Work closely with firmware and embedded systems teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software.
- Source and liaise with manufacturers to ensure high-quality production of PCBs.
- Support production processes, including quality control and compliance testing.
- Drive advancements in electronics architecture, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Stay current with trends in high-speed digital design and emerging technologies, applying insights to improve Paladin's products.
