Responsibilities
- Design, test, and validate high-speed signal interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet)
- Perform signal integrity analysis, including simulation and measurement of transmission lines
- Debug and resolve issues with high-speed signaling during PCB bring-up, ensuring robust operation across temperature and usage conditions
- Design and optimize PCBs for high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits
- Perform schematic capture and layout design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
- Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to optimize PCB form factor and thermal management
- Conduct hands-on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools
- Develop and execute validation plans for high-speed interfaces and related components
- Work closely with firmware and embedded systems teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software
- Source and liaise with manufacturers to ensure high-quality production of PCBs
- Support production processes, including quality control and compliance testing
- Drive advancements in electronics architecture, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Stay current with trends in high-speed digital design and emerging technologies, applying insights to improve Paladin's products
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years in electronics engineering, with experience in high-speed signal design and bring-up
- Strong understanding of signal integrity principles, including crosstalk, impedance matching, and reflection mitigation
- Proven experience delivering successful PCB bring-ups, particularly for systems with high-speed interfaces
- Expertise in PCB design tools like Altium Designer
- Experience with signal integrity analysis simulation tools
- Skilled in using oscilloscopes, TDRs, and logic analyzers for signal debugging and validation
- Strong understanding of embedded systems and their interaction with high-speed hardware
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to debugging complex systems
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with LTE, Wi-Fi, or other wireless communication systems
- Knowledge of electronic regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FCC, CE)
- Experience with drone or robotics hardware is a plus
