PAYROLL PROCESSING LEAD
The Payroll Processing Lead oversees the daily tasks within the department to ensure accurate processing of biweekly and semi-monthly payrolls. This position is a supervisory position in which you will lead, train and mentor staff through understanding daily task needs and assignments. This position also requires proficient computer skills, advanced level of Excel knowledge, and the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for understanding payroll and accounts payable processing requirements.
- Ensure that processing is being performed timely based on processing requirements.
- Works with leadership to prepare for new program implementations and works through new requirements for programs as they come along.
- Performs setup activities within the payroll system and assists with testing new payroll clients.
- Maintains client confidence by safeguarding data and complying with HIPAA.
- Assist specialists with processing adjustments, voids, reissues, and ACH uploads when needed.
- Execute evaluations to ensure that garnishments, tax levies, court orders, etc. are processed accurately.
- Research and resolve payroll issues and assist with optimizing processes to be accurate and efficient.
- Coordinate payroll audits/reviews to ensure accuracy of pay and identify potential errors.
- Assists with compiling information for special reports and preparing other documents and correspondence.
- Assists in the training of new employees, cross training current employees, and ensuring knowledge over processes is shared across the various programs.
- Supervise the Processing Team for Scheduling, Annual Evaluations, and Weekly update meetings.
- Ability to step in and process payroll for all entities under their supervision.
- Assists with special projects, as needed.
Education and Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required and five years of relevant experience.
- You should bring with you, knowledge of accounting, payroll, and accounts payable processing.
- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, strong attention to detail, take initiative to follow-up on transactions, and make decisions about information.
- Strong research and analytics skills.
- Must possess solid email, Internet, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Advanced excel skills are essential for the position
- Exceptional mathematical and calculation skills.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Multitasking abilities
- Must be willing to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
