We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Product Owner to lead the development, enhancement, and integration of payroll-related features within our platform. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing payroll workflows, and managing integrations with financial systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in payroll processing, employment tax requirements, and automated payroll system integrations.
The ideal candidate will lead the end-to-end delivery of product features and integrations, ensuring seamless communication between platforms, compliance with healthcare regulations, and enhanced client satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare technology, client needs, and system workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Strategy & Development
- Lead the development and delivery of product features focused on integrations with HR, payroll, and Medicaid billing systems.
- Define and prioritize the product roadmap for payroll features and integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop automated payroll processing tools.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality products on time.
2. Implementations & Client Success
- Oversee and support client onboarding, training, and product rollout to ensure successful implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, client support, and compliance, to ensure smooth deployments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the implementation and integration phases.
3. Integration Management
- Lead integrations with third-party payroll processors, tax authorities and benefit platforms.
- Improve automation for payroll calculations, tax deductions, and reporting.
- Oversee compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll tax filing, and employer obligations.
- Oversee and support client onboarding, training, and product rollout to ensure successful implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, client support, and compliance, to ensure smooth deployments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the implementation and integration phases.
- Ensure product compliance with federal and state Medicaid requirements and other healthcare regulations.
- Continuously monitor the performance of integrations and address any issues or enhancements.
4. Stakeholder & Compliance Collaboration
- Work closely with HR, finance, and compliance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and legal adherence.
- Stay informed about payroll industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Partner with internal teams, including sales and marketing, to gather feedback and improve product offerings.
- Communicate product vision, roadmap, and updates to clients, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive alignment across teams for product priorities, timelines, and goals.
5. Industry & Compliance Expertise
- Stay up-to-date with Medicaid policies, home care regulations, and emerging trends in healthcare technology.
- Ensure the product meets compliance standards for Medicaid billing, HIPAA, and state-specific EVV mandates.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in payroll product management.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, employment tax regulations, and HR/payroll integrations.
- Familiarity with payroll APIs, automation tools, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid billing workflows, state healthcare regulations, and EVV systems.
- Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex implementations simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in SaaS or healthcare software companies.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of APIs and integration frameworks.
