The Director of Project Management will spearhead the development and execution of strategic projects with a strong focus on driving market growth. In this role, you will partner closely with the sales team to identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities, ensuring that projects not only align with Palermo's strategic objectives but are also effectively commercialized.
What You Will Do:
Strategic Development & Commercialization: Develop and implement a comprehensive project management strategy that integrates commercialization initiatives, ensuring alignment with Palermo's vision, market trends, and customer expectations.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of project managers with a focus on driving market-driven project execution and commercial success, while providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
Sales Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and launch projects that not only deliver operational value but also enhance revenue streams and market positioning.
Project Execution & Commercialization: Oversee the development and execution of detailed project plans, ensuring that commercialization strategies are integrated from inception, with effective resource allocation, risk management, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
Performance Monitoring & Market Impact: Monitor and evaluate project performance across the organization, addressing challenges, mitigating risks, and ensuring that projects meet both operational and market commercialization targets.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to food safety regulations, quality standards, and health and safety guidelines throughout their lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive continuous improvement by enhancing project management frameworks and commercialization processes, focusing on manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, waste minimization, and accelerated market entry.
Market & Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to optimize project portfolios with an emphasis on projects that promise rapid commercialization, improved speed-to-market, and increased competitive advantage.
Reporting & Communication: Prepare and deliver comprehensive project and commercialization status reports to senior management, clearly communicating progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
Industry Trends & Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to both project management and commercialization, integrating innovative approaches as appropriate.
External Relationships & Partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry peers, as well as internal sales teams, to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the successful commercialization of new projects.
What You Need To Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or PMP certification is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the food production industry.
Demonstrated success in managing complex projects with a significant focus on commercialization and market-driven outcomes.
ERP experience preferably Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion. Advanced working knowledge of project management software; Microsoft Project and Smartsheet preferred, as well as Agile SCRUM project management experience.
Project management certification(s), a plus.
Previous experience in food manufacturing and/or packaging preferred.
