What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Yard Dog/Jockey (2nd Shift) position at Palermo Villa, Inc.?
Hours :
2nd Shift : 2pm-10 : 30pm
The Warehouse Yard Dog is responsible for knowing and being able to perform all functions within the warehouse including the safe and accurate movement of trailers within the yard and accurate cycle counting. In addition, this position requires the willingness to work in the freezer and rotate positions in order to maintain optimal skill level.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for safely spotting trailers to ensure the timely flow of materials.
- Responsible for placement of jack stands, wheel chocks and glad hand locks.
- Completion of daily yard activity logs and required equipment inspections.
- Preparing trailers for loading including cleaning when necessary and working with refrigerated units to ensure proper material storage.
- Fills in where needed on dock, cooler or freezer when not operating yard dog

While performing the responsibilities of Warehouse Yard Dog, the employee must be able to repeatedly climb in and out of the yard tractor and perform some physical duties. Employee must be able to operate various forms of material handling equipment including motorized and manual pallet jacks and forklifts.
