Job Title: Camp Custodian/Caretaker
Location: Camp Palestine – 396 SW 730 Road, Chilhowee, MO 64733
Position Type: Full-Time role with on-site housing provided
Overview: Camp Palestine is a Christian facility designed to promote Spiritual growth & Christian education while providing a fun and relaxed environment for all.
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible live-In Camp Custodian/Caretaker to manage and maintain our camp facilities. The incumbent will ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management: Oversee daily operations of the camp, including maintenance of cabins, common areas, and grounds. Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of facilities. Mow grass areas, prune trees/shrubs near buildings, and handle heavy equipment such as tractors, trucks as needed. Must have a passion for outdoor activities and nature.
Maintenance & Repairs: Maintain basic plumbing, sewage and electrical systems on site. Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed. Maintain and winterize all equipment, buildings and recreational items seasonally. Knowledge of public pool maintenance & testing required. Coordinate with Camp Chairman or contractors for larger repairs and renovations as approved.
Safety & Security: Monitor the camp to ensure a safe environment for all guests. Conduct regular safety checks and maintain emergency equipment.
Guest Relations: Welcome campers and guests, provide basic orientation, and assist with any inquiries/concerns.
Activity Monitor: Collaborate with guests to enhance their camping and fishing experience.
Inventory Management: Manage supplies and equipment for camp operations. Establish and maintain an organized inventory system & report monthly, quarterly, annually to Camp Chairman.
Emergency Response: Act as the first point of contact in an emergency. Administer basic first aid and coordinate with local emergency services as needed.
Community Engagement: Build relationships with local community members and businesses to enhance camp programming and resources.
Qualifications:
· Experience in camp management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks.
· First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Conflict resolution sufficient to diffuse any potential escalations while the facilities are in use.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per year
