What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist (Per Diem) position at PALISADES MEDICAL CENTER?

Perform cardiac diagnostic sonographic examinations, to record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data on patients and prepare test data for interpretation by physicians.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular training program.
- RCT registered or eligible preferred. BLS certification.
- One year experience in all phases of echocardiography testing.
- Telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, and printer operation.
- Echocardiographic ultrasound machine, vascular ultrasound machine, PVR, various computer systems, PACS, wheelchairs, stretchers
- Assume on-call as needed,
- Strong basic medical knowledge, with emphasis on cardiac ultrasound and cardiology,
- Good communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently, capable of supervising and prioritizing in a fast paced environment.

- Requires the flexibility to perform activities due to interruptions and changes in schedule, and demands
- Ability to deal with stress of dealing with internal and external customers, frequent interruptions, and working on multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and unbiased attitude when dealing with the staff
- Work requires the ability to memorize detail, alertness and skill in the area of practice
- Organization in a high pressure environment
