Essential Job Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned :
Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.Adheres with service and safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.Mitigate skiing hazards through appropriate and consistent markings and signageEvaluate skiers for injuries and administer first aid as necessaryTransport injured skiers by sled, toboggan or snowmobileMitigate avalanche hazards through the application of standard forecasting and control procedures.Investigate accidents and documentEnforce policies in a fair, consistent manner, including skier safety, speed control, citizen’s arrest as necessary.Actively anticipate and meet guest needsAct as Mountain DispatchPositively assist and interact with other employees and departmentsMaintain and improve patrol skillsAvalanche rescue beacon expertiseAssist and expedite avalanche and missing person rescuesIn addition to all of the skills and knowledge of lesser levels, demonstrates competencies in these areas :
Guest Service
Can provide on hill directions to all slopes and facilitiesCan provide guests with daily grooming report for all complexesProficient with all medical emergencies, helicopter landing zone and troop carrier proceduresProvide transport and extrication all terrain, all equipmentToboggan Skills (Level III)Assist in conducting searches for missing skiers including rescue, patient care, and extricationProficient interview technique with reporting partyParticipates in incident investigation including drafting diagrams and maps, photograph annotation, and all necessary documentation with the help of an I.I. Must be capable of skiing 50% or more of a normal 9 hour day. Must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 100 lbs or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying 20-75 lbs. Must be capable of frequent climbing movements, walking on uneven terrain, walking on snow and ice, skiing, and operating a snowmobile. Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions :
Indoor / Outdoor : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, and blizzard conditions
