Plant and Building Maintenance

Summary: The candidate shall be able to perform work involving the skill of the Electrical/ Mechanical maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

· Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.

· Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.

· Diagnose mechanical/ electrical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.

· Troubleshoot and identify PLC faults and repair.

· Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

· A minimum of 2 years maintenance experience in a high-speed industrial environment.

· Certifications in mechanical systems and industrial electrical are highly desired but not required.

· Must be experienced in the areas of mechanical equipment, conveyors, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

· Knowledge of Robot and PLC operations machines a plus.

· Possess the ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, sketches.

· Proficient in the operation of basic tools - including hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, etc.

· Must provide all necessary tools and devices to perform duties as outlined previously.

Additional Qualifications

· Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

· Electrical – Knowledge of machine PLC’s including reading schematics, including their designs, uses, repair.

· Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.

· Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
