Position Overview:
The Lumber Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory of lumber products. This role is crucial to maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing stock management processes, and ensuring systematic reporting to support efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of lumber operations and inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Monitor, manage, and maintain accurate inventory levels of lumber products within facility
-Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
Stock Audits: Conduct regular physical counts and audits of lumber inventory, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring proper stock levels.
Reporting: Generate reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and other key metrics for management review.
System Maintenance: Maintain and update inventory management systems to ensure data accuracy and optimize functionalities.
Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to forecast inventory needs and ensure timely stock replenishment.
Quality Control: Ensure that all lumber products meet quality standards and compliance regulations before they are stocked or shipped.
Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to inventory management processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
* Forklift experience required*
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within the lumber or manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Knowledge of lumber products and industry trends is a plus.
