Job Title: Skin Care Instructor
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Skin Care Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of skin care treatments, techniques, and products, and a desire to pass on that knowledge to the next generation of professionals. As a Skin Care Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students the science of skincare, demonstrating practical skills, and providing hands-on training in various aesthetic treatments. You will help students develop the technical, professional, and ethical skills necessary for success in the beauty and wellness industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
- Teach a variety of skin care topics, including skin anatomy, types of skin conditions, facials, advanced skin treatments, skincare products, and proper sanitation techniques.
- Develop and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises in an engaging and comprehensive manner.
- Foster a positive and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and development.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the department to design and update course materials, lesson plans, and training modules.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with industry standards, certification requirements, and current skin care trends and technologies.
Hands-On Training:
- Supervise and guide students during practical sessions, ensuring proper techniques and safety standards are followed.
- Demonstrate various skin care treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and other services, ensuring students master the skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluate students’ performance in practical assessments.
Student Support:
- Offer individualized guidance and mentorship to students, helping them address academic and technical challenges.
- Support students in building a professional portfolio and preparing for licensing exams or certifications.
Industry and Safety Standards:
- Ensure all classroom and practical activities adhere to state regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in skin care.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and techniques in the skin care and beauty industry.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Assist in the development of exams, quizzes, and assessments to gauge student understanding and skill proficiency.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other institutional activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Completion of a formal esthetician program or a related field, with certification or licensure as a licensed esthetician (or equivalent).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in the skin care or esthetics industry, with hands-on experience in a variety of skin care treatments.
- Previous teaching experience or a strong desire to educate and mentor students is preferred.
Certification:
- Valid state esthetician license (or equivalent) is required.
- Additional certifications in specialized skin care treatments (e.g., microdermabrasion, chemical peels, etc.) are a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
Skills and Competencies:

- Ability to explain complex skin care concepts in a simple, approachable manner.
