SUMMARY
In support of the universitys mission and objectives, the Coordinator of Worship oversees the planning, execution, and administration of chapel worship services, ensuring a seamless experience for both worship teams and students. This role combines creative direction, logistical coordination, and pastoral support to foster a meaningful and spiritually enriching environment. This position leads the chapel worship teams, manages the worship schedule, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the worship experience.
Chapel Planning and Coordination:
- Plans the academic year and summer worship schedule.
- Recruits, interviews, and auditions Chapel Worship Teams and manages those teams.
- Serves as the primary contact for all screen materials used in Chapel services such as lyrics, scripture, images, and videos.
- Serves as the primary creative director for PBA Chapel services, overseeing set design, screen visuals, lighting, and overall order of service.
- Coordinates worship music for other department needs on campus.
- Reserves venues for rehearsals and communicates with the necessary parties prior to chapel services or chapel-related events.
- Serves as the main point of contact with external worship leaders/bands for special events.
- Attends each of the three weekly chapels, assists the Coordinator of Chapel Services with monitoring attendance, and supports chapel staff on a regular basis.
- Manages the worship team personnel utilizing the universitys planning and communication software.
- Executes multiple event deadlines and coordinates worship team participation across various events throughout the week.
Administrative Support:
- Provides administrative support to the Chapel Office.
- Aids with student correspondence throughout the year.
- Creates and submits all media support requests.
- Organizes all student worship volunteers and workers.
- Coordinates all aspects of weekly worship programing, including guest worship leaders, worship teams, production, student volunteers, and student workers.
Ministerial Duties:
- Prayerfully considers the worship music used in chapel and how it integrates with the message, worship team ability, and style-of-worship preferences of the student body.
- Regularly meets with and is available to meet with members of the chapel worship team for guidance, mentoring, prayer, etc.
- In collaboration with the Spiritual Life team, defines and enforces conduct requirements for students on the Chapel Worship Team.
Operations & Communications:
- Serves as the main point of contact, liaising between the Chapel Office, Creative Services, Family Church production, and any other third-party production team.
- Manages the worship calendar.
- Creates and/or approves all Chapel graphics to be displayed during services.
- Communicates regularly to the iAttended point of contact regarding troubleshooting, licensing, etc.
- Submits equipment requests as needed.
Equipment, Inventory, & Training:
- Oversees the maintenance and repair of musical instruments (drums, monitors, speakers, etc.).
- Keeps inventory of all musical equipment in the Chapel office.
- Provides training and support for worship team members to develop their musical abilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Worship Leadership, Music Performance, or a related field required.
- 1 years of general knowledge of worship production and the tools and software typically used therein (DAWs, VSTs, ProPresenter, Basic audio knowledge and troubleshooting ability).
- Must have proficient musical skill, knowledge, and must be able to train others in their musical ability.
- Planning Center Services proficiency preferred.
