Student Accounts Representative
SUMMARY:
The Student Accounts Representative is responsible for assisting students and parents through phone or campus visits, regarding student accounts, in their initial and subsequent contacts with the University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works with Students and Parents regarding Student Accounts
- Initial contact for all student and parent telephone calls and/or office visits regarding student accounts.
- Reviews PBA student AR accounts to maintain all accounts in a current status. Initiates collections efforts for all accounts not in a current status.
- Assists students with questions regarding accounts including charges, payments and application of financial aid.
- Becomes a proficient user of the Jenzabar Accounts Receivable Module
Liaison with other University departments to assist students
- Liaison with financial aid, the business office, and students to ensure timely satisfaction of student financial obligations.
- Submits Invoices for all students with tuition reimbursement, vocational rehabilitation, and Florida Prepaid.
- Works closely with the Registrar’s Office for validating attendance in courses billed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reviewing Accounts and Reports
- Reviews miscellaneous charge batches submitted by other departments to student accounts.
- Reviews withdrawals with students, prorates tuition, meal plans and fees, ascertains all fees are posted, and facilitates collection of balance due or generates refund.
- Reviews account records, registration (transcripts) and Powerfaids for accuracy in the billing and crediting of financial aid.
- Reviews non-enrolled student database of collections confirms charges to transcript record, initiates contact as soon as possible.
- Processes accounts receivable statements for students upon request.
Other University Events
- Participate in the PBA Check-in Process
- Completes special projects as assigned by the Student Accounts Administrator, as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, from an accredited university is required
- One to two years of related experience is required
- Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position
