About the Supervisor of Elections Office
The Supervisor of Elections Office (“SOE”) is responsible for conducting elections, registering voters, and maintaining voter records. The office administers all federal, state, county, municipal and special district elections in Palm Beach County in accordance with the Florida Election Code, the federal Help America Vote Act, the National Voting Rights Act, the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and federal voting rights laws. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, qualifying county candidates for office; designating precinct boundaries, appointing, and instructing election boards, tabulating voted ballots and publishing results, providing statistics and results election analysis.
General Description of Duties
Candidate Services takes the lead role in the management and execution of services provided to candidates, political committees, electioneering communication organizations, political parties, community development districts, and special taxing districts. This includes establishing and maintaining an organized system for managing the required forms and records associated with filing and qualifying for office, candidate petitions, campaign finance reporting, financial disclosures, initiative petitions, and other related activities. The Candidate Services staff are part of the Communications Department, under the supervision of the Public Information Officer.

- Develop and maintain efficient, reliable processes and electronic filing systems and databases for candidate services
- Work effectively with the Communications Department to update outreach information and our website with information related to Candidates
- Respond to inquiries and requests for services from candidates, political committees, electioneering communication organizations and political parties
- Maintain knowledge of applicable Florida Statutes and the Palm Beach County Charter
- Provide information and prepare reports required by the Division of Elections, including the review and confirmation of the Notice of General Election, which lists all seats eligible for the ballot
- Knowledge of Community Development Districts and Special Taxing Districts
- Manage the intake, processing, training, and reporting numbers to the Division of Elections relating to Initiative Petitions
- Serves as the Municipal Clerk Liaison and is responsible for knowledge of the 39 Municipal Charters
- Ballot proofing, coordinating candidate and political party review
- Participate in community outreach activities, including nights and weekends
Marginal Functions
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the department, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Provides customer service using multilingual skills as the need arises if applicable
- Performs other duties as directed
Minimum Training and Experience
Two years of elections experience and knowledge of Candidate Qualifying and Campaign Finance.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
