What are the responsibilities and job description for the ANIMAL CARE SPECIALIST position at Palm Beach County?
Cares for and feeds impounded animals. Maintains animal housing according to sanitary standards; aids in the euthanasia of impounded animals; maintains animal inventory. Assists the public with animal adoptions and with the redemption of their lost animals.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) months of experience in the care and handling of animals in a personal/work capacity.
PREFERENCE FOR: Six (6) months of experience working in a large animal shelter for dogs and cats/livestock.
NOTE: It is not necessary to submit another application for this position if you applied 11/4-15/24 or 1/6-24/25.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Will be required to complete a "Willingness to Work" Acknowledgement with application. Selected candidate must successfully complete the pre-exposure rabies treatment/vaccination.
