What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Tech II position at Palm Beach County?
Maintains and repairs a wide variety of automotive and specialized equipment. Performs advanced automotive computer diagnostics and repairs of various auxiliary systems. Welds and fabricates. Maintains and repairs marine applications. Maintains and repairs various turf equipment including 2-cycle engines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive/heavy equipment mechanic with at least one (1) year of experience performing repairs to heavy diesel equipment and/or advanced automotive computers.
PREFERENCE FOR: Completion of a vocational/trades school program in Automotive or Heavy Equipment; work experience with small engines/two-cycle engines; experience using turf equipment or as a marine technician; Current ASE/Master Certification (copies of Certifications must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
