What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMERGENCY PROGRAM COORDINATOR (Planning) position at Palm Beach County?
Coordinates and manages all programs under the Planning Section of the Division of Emergency Management (DEM). Supervises the Planning Section staff and exercises administrative control over assigned programs and activities. Drafts standard operating guidelines and policies; administers the Division's plans for review, update, training and exercises. Maintains the County's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) and ensures that plan updates are shared with stakeholders. Serves as the primary liaison to the Planning Section Chief during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations; assists the Director as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public/Business Administration, or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in Public Safety, Emergency Management or closely related field and one (1) year of experience supervising the work of others.
Equivalencies
PREFERENCE FOR: Five (5) years of administrative experience; Certified Emergency Manager or equivalent certification; security clearance.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
