PBDA is seeking a full-time Learning Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. Qualified applicants will be ready to provide learning support for students in Grades 4-8 through the direct instruction of learning strategies and study skills in individual and small group settings. The learning specialist will oversee the creation of individual learning plans, facilitate classroom and testing accommodations, and also serve as a resource for the faculty. Candidates must be familiar with educational-psychological/ neuropsychological testing results analysis and the creation of individual learning plans for students. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, student-centered environment and possess strong classroom management skills to create and maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Additional duties during the academic day range from advising students to actively participating in faculty meetings and professional development.

All applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field, and a Master’s degree is preferred. Additional certifications in specific areas of learning or reading support, specifically Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner or Orton-Gillingham Instructor (Classroom Educator or Certified Level) are a plus. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience working as a learning specialist or in a related field. Essential skills include strong organization and attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents.
