This position requires availability during the following hours :
Weekdays : 1 : 00pm-8 : 00pm and / or 4 : 00pm-8 : 00pm
Weekends : 8 : 30am-2 : 00pm
Front Desk Associate Job Description
Immediate Supervisor : Site Supervisor
General Job Summary : Primary responsibilities include greeting, checking in, and checking out patients.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
1. Checks in / out patients and manages patient flow
2. Updates patient status in EMR.
3. Notifies patients of, and promotes the patient portal.
4. Verifies forms are filled out completely using online registration system. Reconciles forms if needed. Monitors completion of patient forms and ensures sufficient documentation prior to patients leaving office.
5. Maintains accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information by verifying this information at each patient encounter.
6. Scans insurance cards and driver’s licenses as needed.
7. Schedules patient appointments within operational standards and documents appropriately.
8. Assists with insurance verification as needed.
9. Collects copays, deductibles, coinsurance and past due balances prior to the patient being seen.
10. Scans documents, and accurately labels and saves to the patient record.
11. Monitors Front Desk buckets and works appointment ticklers to schedule / reschedule appointments.
12. Keeps Front Desk and Waiting Room clean and sanitized per practice standards.
13. Answers the telephone in a warm, friendly manner.
14. Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Experience : Medical front office experience preferred
Knowledge :
1. Knowledge of medical terminology
2. Basic computer operations and EMR
Skills :
1. Excellent customer service skills

3. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
