What a day of a Mental Health Professional I looks like:
- Conducts student intakes, triages students in crisis, and schedules ongoing counseling and case management appointments. Facilitates therapeutic groups and individual counseling sessions.
- Utilizes specific technology, frameworks, and platforms to manage caseload.
- Responds to inquiries and requests for linkage to community resources and differing college resources from students, staff, and the public.
- Provides input to supervisor regarding departmental, or area, objectives, goals, or priorities.
- Assists with department data analytics and documentation, including student charts.
- Participates in classroom and public speaking events.
- Prepares correspondences, reports, and other administrative duties to support projects and the department.
- Develops and strengthens relationships with community and campus service providers and works collaboratively to ensure successful outcomes.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education And Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- Some experience in individual and group counseling
- Local community resources throughout Palm Beach County
- Suicide assessment, differing therapeutic modalities and therapeutic issues
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
- Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
- Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems, driving solutions through to completion
- Working with diverse populations who may be experiencing mental health challenges, housing and food insecurities, and additional psycho-social stressors
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
- Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
- Provide services on multiple campus locations as well as experience providing virtual therapeutic appointments.
- Registered Intern seeking licensure within the State of Florida
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Requires travel between campus locations
- Regular physical attendance required
Education and Experience:
- Experience in a higher education setting

- Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor

- Reach and grasp objects
- Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Stand for extended periods of time

- Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Communicate information orally and in writing

- Proofread and check documents for accuracy
- Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury
