Job Summary
The part-time dental hygienist will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working closely with our dentist to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, and maintaining a clean and organized dental facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services to patients, including exams, cleanings, and education on oral health and hygiene practices.
- Work closely with the dentist to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized dental facility, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring the highest level of patient safety.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, communicating effectively and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Requirements
- Dental Hygienist license in Florida
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and dental patient screening and medical history documentation
- CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene OR equivalent experience of 1-2 years
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Prolonged periods sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
