Seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager/Director
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager/Director for a Critical Access Hospital located just west of St. Louis, MO that offers a wide range of medical services including emergency care, surgery, rehabilitation, sleep studies, and more. These state-of-the-art facilities ensure that the patients receive the best possible care in a modern and comfortable environment.
As the Laboratory Manager/Director you will be overseeing 10 to 15 full-time employees consisting of PRN they have and Phlebotomist.
This is primarily 90% admin 10% bench work as needed. The environment is hands on in which every team member plays a key role in the laboratory.
The Hospital has lasting relationships with the people they serve and has become the health care provider of choice for the communities. The leadership places the needs of the staff first and strives to improve working conditions daily.
Position overview:
Lab Manager/Director will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the Clinical Pathology laboratory in addition to managing scientific support staff. This position will be responsible for overseeing and performing automated and manual hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation analyses, urinalysis, inventory review and supply ordering. Responsibilities will include monitoring of all procedures and quality control practices to ensure accuracy and validity of test results and compliance with the requirements of regulatory and certifying agencies.
Must have strong people skills and be able to coach with compassion.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Six years’ experience in all major areas of the laboratory. Previous Supervisor or Senior/Lead Technologist experience highly preferred.
- Must have one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology plus completion of an internship program in a Medical Technology program / Bachelor’s Degree in one of the biological or chemical/physical sciences plus year of pertinent clinical laboratory experience.
- Completion of 3 years of study in an accredited college plus one year of internship in a Medical Technology program.
- ASCP/CLS certification
- Candidate must have hands-on knowledge of all sectors of a hospital laboratory (Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Uranalysis, Coagulation).
