Job Description
This is responsible for supervisory work in the preventative maintenance, repair, and cleaning of Mass Transit Division vehicles. This is supervisory level work over classifications engaged in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide variety of heavy-duty transit fleet, support vehicles, maintenance equipment, as well as the facility; overall supervision of the maintenance shop functions. Employees in this position assign the work of skilled mechanics, utility persons, and cleaners, and provide technical instruction and assistance as required. Work involves acting as mechanic supervisor and service line supervisor in planning and scheduling the activities of mechanics and maintenance personnel during an assigned shift. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day work conduct over multiple shifts or work sites. Work is performed under the general supervision of the maintenance superintendent, who reviews work for conformance with established policies and procedures and desired results.

Do you currently possess a high school diploma or an equivalent certification (GED)?
Do you have (5) years of experience as a mechanic in the maintenance and repair of heavy -duty fleet vehicles and equipment?
Do you have one (1) year of supervisory experience supervising five (5) or more employees preferably in the heavy-duty fleet maintenance and repair field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position?

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certification (GED);
- Five (5) years experience as a mechanic in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment;
- One (1) year supervisory experience supervising five (5) or more employees preferably in the heavy-duty fleet maintenance and repair field; or
- an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Possession of a valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement or CDL Learner's permit. Candidates with these qualifications are encouraged to submit a copy of their driver's license or permit, along with any related certifications, with their application.
- Experience in Mass Transit maintenance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Knowledge of Maintenance-related software.
