Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and the ability to work effectively in both clinic and hospital settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical history and explaining procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control protocols within the clinic or hospital environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in a clinical setting or hospital medicine preferred.
- Familiarity with systems used for patient management is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks related to vital signs measurement accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- A compassionate approach to patient care with attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant training is advantageous but not required.
