Palm Village Retirement Community has been serving seniors and the community for over 80 years and sits on a 17 acre campus on the southwest edge of Reedley across from the Kings River. We are a tax exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Our programs and care levels are designed to meet individual needs and encourage an active and friendly community for seniors.
Palm Village’s five levels of care include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Assisted Living Memory Care and Skilled Memory Care. Our primary goal is to ensure comfort, security, social support, proper healthcare, and promote independence.
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides routine daily nursing care in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and facility standards, guidelines and regulations and as may be directed by the Charge Nurse. The CNA ensures that the highest degree of quality health care for residents is maintained at all times.

Qualifications
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Must be a certified nurse assistant by the State of California.
- Previous experience working as a nurses assistant is preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Must exude personal warmth; and have the ability to get along with residents, family members, visitors, and co-workers and have a genuine liking of older people.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to plan and organize schedule to accomplish required level of tasks during work day.
- Must be able to follow facility established nursing practices, procedures and guidelines pertaining to the delivery of quality health care services to the residents.
- Must maintain confidentiality of resident information and respect resident property rights.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Must attend required training and education sessions offered by the facility.
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to infectious waste and disease (including HBV and HIV).
- Stands, bends, lifts and moves throughout the day.
- May be required to deliver services to residents under many conditions and circumstances including those under emotional stress and hostile residents.
- May be required to work after regular work hours, on holidays and on weekends.
- May be required to work on shifts other than the one initially hired for.
Equipment Used:
Telephone, BP cuff and stethoscope. tympanic thermometer, IVAC, glass thermometers, Jacuzzi, hoyer lifts, scale-chair, bed-scale, & floor, wheelchair, Geri-chair, sterilizer, residents beds-rail & positioning, walkers, canes, commodes, shower chairs, enema bucket, empty and position Foleys, change Foley bags, clean suction machines, meal carts & trays, restraints, special splints on residents, nail clippers, gait belts, and fire extinguisher.
