Job Overview
The Palmer Bus Financial Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced and reliable individual to fill the position of Bus Driver and Safety Specialist. This role requires the safe transportation of students to and from school, as well as transporting students and school district authorized passengers on field trips and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the bus garage before scheduled departure time to check with the dispatcher for any changes in normal duties or student passenger changes.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and complete radio checks before starting each route.
- Ensure children safely board the bus and are seated before proceeding to the next stop.
- Enforce rules for proper discipline during ride and report any incidents to the Site Manager.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License with passenger, school bus, and air brake endorsements.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to administer basic first aid and/or be CPR certified if required by the district.
