Job Purpose
The Commercial Driver - Passenger Services is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as transporting students and school district authorized passengers on field trips, activities, and special outings.
Key Functions
- Develop and implement safe transportation plans to ensure the well-being of students.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and complete radio checks before departing.
- Ensure that all students safely board the bus and are seated before proceeding to the next stop.
- Enforce rules for proper discipline during ride. Report any incidents to the Site Manager and communicate with school authorities as needed.
- Transport students and school district authorized passengers to field trips, sporting events, and other activities.
- Properly maintain the bus by keeping fuel levels above half a tank or filled up after the completion of a trip.
Requirements
- Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License with passenger, school bus, and air brake endorsements is required.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures is necessary.
- Understand emergency evacuation techniques and be able to administer basic first aid if required.
- Knowledge of health standards and hazards is also required.
