School Bus Driver Job Description
Position Overview:
Join our award-winning team as a School Bus Driver, where safety is our top priority. You will play a crucial role in transporting students to and from school in a safe and timely manner, ensuring a positive and secure environment for all passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in excellent working condition.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety at all times, following protocols to safeguard students and others on the road.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, especially young children or those with special needs.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel regarding safety and bus procedures.
- Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues to the appropriate department immediately.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsement or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle unexpected situations calmly.
