Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepare school bus and type 3 van surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
- Apply paint and other coatings to school bus bodies using spray guns and other application equipment.
- Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes.
- Ensure smooth and even paint application, minimizing runs, drips, and other imperfections.
- Perform touch-ups and repairs to painted surfaces as needed.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment, including spray guns and paint booths.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations regarding paint application and handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of paint materials used and work performed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive or heavy-duty vehicle painter, preferably with experience in large vehicles or buses.
- Proficiency in using spray guns and other paint application equipment.
- Knowledge of various paint types and application techniques.
- Ability to mix and match paints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations regarding paint application and handling of hazardous materials.
- Ability to read and interpret paint specifications and instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certifications in painting and refinishing.
- Experience with school bus, large fleet painting,or automotive painting.
