Palmer Candy is looking for a Line Operator at our HWY75 facility.
1st shift will work Monday-Friday. Monday-Thursday hours are 5 : 00 am- 3 : 30 pm with Friday hours varying from 6 to 10-hour shifts. Saturday hours may be scheduled due to business needs.
Team Member’s will be notified by plant management if schedules were to change outside of the times listed above
Overall Purpose : This role operates a production line and oversees the packaging of confectionary products.
Essential Job Functions :
- Ensure that Team Members are producing and packaging fine quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner within the appropriate specifications outlined by company management
- Regular attendance
- Perform the following duties to company standards :
Package products
Check scales to ensure correct weightsRoutinely check metal detectors are in working orderMaintain a clean working environmentPerform proper allergen and product washesPerform regular quality checks to ensure product meets specificationsPrepare supplies, products and set up appropriate equipmentRegularly perform percentage checks on products.Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations.Perform simple maintenance or cleaning.Maintain appropriate inventory counts of products.Correctly record lot numbers, date codes and other product information.Assist and work on the line when neededAbility to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.Train Team Members assigned to your line as neededProficiency with the REDZONE production software system and maintain OEE standardsAbility to work overtime as needed and as required.Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications :
Prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting preferredGreat attention to detailBasic math skills (addition, subtraction and simple multiplication and division)Ability to cross train on multiple lineThis role requires the ability to verbally communicate fluently in English to effectively engage with internal teams. Applicant must be proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment, instructions, and other documents relevant to the role.Work Environment :
Ability to lift 20-30 pounds occasionallyAbility to work / stand for extended periods of timePossible exposure to minor burns or cutsContinual use of hands to handle, control or feel objectsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motionAbility to cross train on multiple linesOther Duties
