What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator (Night shift) position at Palmer Candy Company?
Palmer Candy is looking for Night Shift Line Operators at our Bluff St. facility.
2nd shift will work Monday-Friday. Monday-Thursday hours are 4:00 pm- 3:00 am with Friday hours varying from 6 to 10-hour shifts. Saturday hours may be scheduled due to business needs.
Team Member’s will be notified by plant management if schedules were to change outside of the times listed above

Essential Job Function s
- Ensure that Team Members are producing and packaging fine quality products in a safe, secure, and sanitary manner within the appropriate specifications outlined by company management
- Regular attendance
- Perform the following duties to company standards:
- Package products
- Check scales to ensure correct weights
- Routinely check metal detectors are in working order
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Perform proper allergen and product washes
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure product meets specifications
- Prepare supplies, products and set up appropriate equipment
- Regularly perform percentage checks on products.
- Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations.
- Perform simple maintenance or cleaning.
- Maintain appropriate inventory counts of products.
- Correctly record lot numbers, date codes and other product information.
- Assist and work on the line when needed
- Ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.
- Train Team Members assigned to your line as needed
- Proficiency with the REDZONE production software system and maintain OEE standards
- Ability to work overtime as needed and as required.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
- Prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Great attention to detail
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction and simple multiplication and division)
- Ability to cross train on multiple line
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work/stand for extended periods of time
- Possible exposure to minor burns or cuts
- Continual use of hands to handle, control or feel objects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion
- Ability to cross train on multiple lines
