SUMMARY: Drives a company vehicle over established routes to take meter readings and other assigned duties.
HOURS:
Varies based on workload 20-30 hours per week. Start time between 7:00 and 8:00 am. Days of the week are flexible. 4 to 5 days a week depending on the workload.
**CDL w/Hazmat driver’s license helpful. Will train proper applicant for commercial delivery driving. Could be a 40-hour job if applicant delivers propane or fuel oil and performs meter reading.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for efficient communication, harmonious interaction, and support of co-workers and management team members:
- Takes meter tablet and reads meters on residential and commercial buildings.
- Takes tank percentage readings.
- Reports any defective meters to the meter coordinator.
- Performs field tank cleaning/clearing (ie: digs dirt out of underground tank domes, clears debris).
- Obtains/runs permits for the service department.
- Performs Operations/Facility support.
- Washes/maintains company vehicles.
- Has and maintains a Safe Driving Record.
- Helps in the summertime; test existing underground propane tanks “cathodic protection” and make necessary installation of new anode if needed.
- Must be able to dig holes in the ground and work in the outside environment.
- This job requires a lot of walking and driving to customer locations.
- Occasionally have to craw, kneel and bend to read meters.
- Performs other tasks assigned by manager to provide general support to company operations.
- Always maintains and promotes company brand guidelines and core values (Friendly, Simple, Safe).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

SAFETY
Working safely is a condition of employment. Employees shall verbally report and photograph all crashes / injuries to their Manager immediately. If your manager is not available, report the crash / injury to the Safety Director, another Manager, or Human Resource Manager.
For your safety, the company has Samsara dash cameras in all company vehicles.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to pass CETP 1.0 which is the Basic Principles of Propane.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Must speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Office: Outlook. Ability to quickly learn our computer software and mobile tablet software. Use Google Drive and search the employee intranet.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
