Palmer Group is assisting our client in their search for an Assistant Plant Manager. This role will be responsible for supporting a positive safety culture by directing the activities and staff throughout the facility. This position will also manage production operations, including manufacturing, packaging, quality, and engineering. Qualified candidates must be equipped with a thorough understanding of production, efficiency, material supply, staffing, and volume as it pertain to a manufacturing facility. Work model :What you will do :
- Manage employees / supervisors or supervise large, complex, technical, or business support or production operations team(s)
- Account for the performance and results of a team within its discipline or function
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
- Resolve issues related to the organization's production, machinery, or production operations
- Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and / or customers
- Lead the safety culture and ensure the safety of team members
- Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion
- Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the business, technical support, or production team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing management / leadership role
- Experience in a LEAN manufacturing organization is preferred
- History of developing and managing department budget
- Experience managing and negotiating within in a union environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Flexibility to be available after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to support operations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
