Calling all Payroll Professionals! Palmer Group has partnered with a reputable local client to add to their growing company. As a Payroll Manager, you will play an important part in the payroll team, which includes the processing of multi-state payroll. Work model :What you will do :
- Process multi-state payroll for union and non-union employees
- Ensure accuracy with payroll records and timesheets
- Maintain employee records and changes, including the setup and deductions of garnishments
- Manage all federal, state, and local tax reports
- Assist with union payroll, including onboarding union employees, maintaining compliance with bargaining agreements, as well as coordinating union-related audits
- Process W-2 forms at year-end
- Process improvement
- AA degree in business administration / finance / accounting or related field preferred
- 1 of payroll processing experience, including tax withholding
- Union Payroll experience is helpful
- General knowledge of the ADP Workforce Now advantageous
- Understanding of state and federal tax laws, including wage and overtime requirements
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem-solving / judgment skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to meet deadlines
- An active member of the American Payroll Association, a plus
