Senior Product Engineer

We are assisting our industry-leading client, the premier foundry in the country and sole source for many aerospace parts, in their search for an experienced Senior Product Engineer. This senior engineering position involves performing various tasks related to the development and production support of Magnesium and Aluminum aerospace sand castings. The role includes implementing cost-efficient production methods to meet quality standards, investigating and resolving work-in-process issues, and recommending operational improvements. What you will do:

• Design gating, riser, and chilling systems for aerospace castings to meet specifications
• Collaborate with CAD technicians, tooling vendors, and manufacturing teams to optimize tool designs
• Develop and review samples and trial castings through all manufacturing stages
• Interpret inspection results, address nonconformities, and implement corrective actions
• Investigate and resolve production and quality issues
• Create and maintain work instructions for casting processes
• Lead new casting program development, including tooling and process approvals
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects
• Travel to customer and vendor facilities as needed

What you will need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a technical degree and experience equivalent to a degree will be considered
• 15 years of Foundry Engineering Experience with experience in gating/risering of Non-Ferrous alloys, tooling design, and process development
• No bake sand casting experience and an understanding of aerospace specifications, requirements, and quality systems preferred
• Magnesium casting experience preferred
