Position Overview:
The CNC Router Operator is responsible for producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications while adhering to established production timelines. This role requires precision in handling specialized materials to ensure on-time deliveries, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Machine Operation:
- Set up, edit, and operate Anderson, Thermwood, and Biesse CNC wood routing machines.
- Adjust and finetune machine settings to accommodate material specifications and production requirements.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure efficiency and quality output.
Quality Control & Inspection:
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials before, during, and after processing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and report defects in raw materials or finished products to the team leader.
- Maintain accurate records for tracking production output and quality control.
Production & Efficiency:
- Meet or exceed established production rates while maintaining highquality standards.
- Assist in optimizing workflow and machine utilization to enhance overall efficiency.
- Operate additional wood fabricating equipment as directed by management.
Machine Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of CNC routers and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to workplace safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Position Expectations:
- Adaptable to changing priorities and capable of adjusting workflows quickly.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on CNC machines.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and report defects or inconsistencies.
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting blueprints, routers, and production documentation.
- Capable of learning and managing multiple steps in the manufacturing process.
- Ability to edit CNC programs to accommodate new products or specification changes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with the department to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Teamoriented mindset with a willingness to train and assist colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in CNC wood router machining (3axis) or a related field.
- Technical knowledge of CNC machinery and wood fabrication processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Proficiency in using measuring devices such as calipers and verniers.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
