Position Overview:
The Poured Edge Operator is responsible for producing high-quality molded edges that meet customer specifications while maintaining or exceeding established production rates. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards to ensure superior product finishing. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, capable of handling physical tasks, and able to work efficiently in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Production:
- Set up and operate the poured (molded) edge table, including lifting and loading materials safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels and tooling for the poured edge process.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Consistently meet or exceed established production rates while maintaining highquality standards.
Quality Control & Inspection:
- Monitor the quality of materials throughout the finishing process.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications before transferring them to the next stage of production.
- Identify and report defects in raw materials or finished products to management.
Record Keeping & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate documentation related to production output, quality control, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations.
Position Expectations:
- Strong attention to detail and precision in the finishing process.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly for material handling and loading.
- Strong mathematical skills to accurately mix color chemicals and maintain consistency in production.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Adaptability to changing production demands and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Physically capable of repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs) and extended periods of standing.
- Willingness to become forklift certified (training provided, if needed).
- Strong mathematical skills for chemical mixing and production calculations.
- Previous experience in chemical mixing or a similar manufacturing role is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret routers, production schedules, and inventory control documents.
- Experience operating power and manual material handling equipment preferred.
