What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Development/Infection Control Nurse position at Palmer Healthcare Center?
Palmer Healthcare Center, a 61-bed skilled nursing facility is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and dedicated person with a passion for teaching others to be our Staff Development/Infection Control nurse. The successful candidate will possess a genuine interest in Geriatric Nursing and be motivated to ensure that our residents receive top quality care. This position is full time, 40 hours per week and reports to the Director of Nurses.
Job responsibilities:
- Develops, prepares, and schedules education programs for all staff.
- Plans and schedules a monthly in-service calendar.
- Ensures documentation for all training is completed.
- Conducts orientation for all newly hired staff including agency personnel.
- Completes competency evaluations on all clinical employees.
- Provides up to date infection control programs for employees and residents.
- Provides and tracks immunizations for employees and residents.
- Tracks physicals for employees.
- Conducts infection control inspections in all departments.
- Does wound rounds with consultant.
- Attends safety, QAPI, and risk meetings.
- Accepts on call status.
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts Nursing License, preferably as an RN.
- 2 years’ experience in long term care.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Great clinical assessment skills.
- Wound certification a plus.

Pay: $45.00 - $49.00 per hour
