Palmer Pain and Headache is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. Working Tuesdays trough Friday up to 10 hours per day. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff. Your responsibilities will include a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring all necessary information and documentation are complete.
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting with physical exams.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, handle specimen collections, and prepare them for transport to the lab.
- Manage and organize patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Schedule patient appointments, and follow-up visits, and coordinate referrals to specialists as needed.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Perform administrative duties, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and processing insurance verification and prior authorizations.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program.
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
