Duties
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing of all tax-related documents.
- Support public accounting functions by preparing necessary documentation for audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights based on financial data.
- Maintain organized financial files and documentation for easy retrieval and reference.
- Stay updated on technical accounting standards, governmental accounting regulations, and tax laws to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting principles, governmental accounting practices, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (online quickbooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for account analysis tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes, accounts payable functions, and overall bookkeeping practices is essential.
