Wrestling Head Coach

The Palmerton Area School District is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Wrestling Coach to lead our wrestling program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a competitive and structured wrestling program that fosters athletic and personal growth for student-athletes. This position requires strong leadership, coaching expertise, and the ability to build a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Flexibility for after school scheduling to meet the time constraints of the position both in-season and off season.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the sport.
• Develop and implement training programs that focus on skill development, conditioning, and strategy.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and sportsmanship-driven team environment.
• Plan and lead daily practices, team meetings, and competition strategies.
• Coordinate and oversee assistant coaches and support staff.
• Develop a staff that fosters a caring environment.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain student-athletes while emphasizing academic success.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and athletic association rules and policies.
• Organize and participate in fundraising, community engagement, and promotional activities.
• Maintain safety standards and oversee risk management procedures for the program.
