Job Summary:
The RT’s Market Retail Supervisor is responsible for managing store inventory accuracy, merchandise order fulfillment, receiving and merchandising. Supervise, train and coach associates and set daily goals and priorities using the Palmetto Bluff standards. Work closely with retail manager on all aspects of the day-to-day operations and perform all aspects of the salesperson responsibilities.
Shift Schedule:
Flexibility in shifts, mostly evenings and weekends until 8:30pm
Essential Job Functions:
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Manages inventory and inventory software maintenance. Creates and maintains accurate receiving and processing procedures for all merchandise while working with retail manager on price changes and profit margins.
- Maintains accurate inventory numbers by conducting a perpetual inventory along with a monthly inventory of certain departments. Completes month end inventory reports for final review by retail manager.
- Maintains organization of stockroom, inventory and ordering of office supplies, including supplies for POS and related systems.
- Supervision and training of sales associates with assistance from retail manager.
- Maintain a clean (inside and out), well stocked, organized and aesthetically pleasing store including the daily monitoring of produce, meat and seafood and expiration dates on all products.
- Establishes professional relationships with vendors. Places re-orders for weekly and non-weekly merchandise with overall direction and support from retail manager
- Reports any deficiencies or maintenance issues and makes suggestions for improvements in procedures
- Works with retail manager in establishing and maintaining a productive, positive and supportive working environment for everyone.
- Contributes ideas for store displays, promotional material and marketing suggestions
- Manager on duty responsibilities as scheduled.
- Daily line-up with team to communicate the plan and execution of daily workload
- On-going training and development of team that keeps the team up to date on product (new/existing) knowledge for effective ability to provide great guest service and sales
- Coaching and mentoring of team through recognition/accountability and by modeling and sharing guest service best practice
- Merchandising product to make an impact in visual aesthetics and sales growth
- Pricing of all items with a ticket and changing of prices based on the cost of goods
- Inventory management to include keeping items in stock to provide for the guests and maintaining an accurate inventory count of all merchandise in the store
- Teamwork with all outlets to problem solve situations as they arise to ensure clear solutions that can be communicated to leadership
- Conflict management and resolution of team matters by using the best practices of employee relations
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two to three years’ retail and or hospitality experience
- Strong emphasis in customer service
- Must possess a positive attitude
- Must be dependable and available to work on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and motivate people; excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, support departments, and members
- Professional and personable demeanor
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, climb stairs to fulfill tasks
- Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to carry 35 lbs (wine cases, produce etc.)
- Valid driver’s license or reliable method of transportation to/from work
- Excellent verbal and listening skills
- Vision ability at close range on a computer & point of sale screen
