Facility Maintenance - Wilson Lawn & Racquet

Job Summary: 

The Facility Maintenance Staff position is responsible for ensuring that Wilson Lawn and Racquet Club operates at the highest standards by maintaining 8 clay tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, a basketball court (which can also accommodate 3 pickleball courts), and 2 bocce courts, as well as the overall upkeep of the facility. This role plays a crucial part in preserving the quality of the playing surfaces and ensuring that all club areas are clean, functional, and well-maintained.

The position also involves maintaining the surrounding grounds, including clearing debris, and ensuring walkways and common areas remain presentable.

Additional duties include handling minor repairs throughout the facility, such as fixing windscreens, adjusting nets, and assisting with general upkeep of club amenities. Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are essential to maintaining a first-class experience for members and guests.

Essential Job Functions:

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Perform daily maintenance of 8 clay tennis courts, including rolling, brushing, and line sweeping.
• Maintain pickleball courts, basketball court, and bocce courts, ensuring surfaces are clean, safe, and in top condition.
• Adjust and repair nets, windscreens, and court dividers as necessary.
• Monitor court conditions and report on any surface issues requiring repair.
• Communicate court conditions with the club staff to ensure the entire team is aware of any maintenance needs or closures, allowing for proper scheduling and communication with members and guests.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of all club areas, including common spaces, and amenities.
• Perform general tasks such as clearing debris, maintaining walkways, and keeping the grounds visually appealing.
• Assist in minor facility repairs, including lighting, fencing, and general maintenance.
• Work alongside club management to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or court maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of clay court upkeep is preferred. 
• Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as blowers, hoses, and rollers.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

 Physical Requirements: 

• Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. 
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. 
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. 
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. 
• Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. 
• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
